A Note From Justin On Living A Fulfilling Life | Mantra Monday

Guys, this summer I’ve been struggling. I’ve been struggling REAL hard. It’s been a challenge for me to take a deep breath and just realize that things really aren’t all that bad. In the midst of all the curveballs that get thrown your way on an average work day, it can be all too tempting to let it get to you. To allow all the “bad” to creep into your mind and suck the joy out of all the “good” parts of your day, your week, your life. I have so much more I plan to write on this, but negativity is something I’ve struggled with for years and years… and thankfully God provided me with someone like Justin who never fails to be a dose of sunshine on a rainy day.

Justin handed me my birthday card this year and I was pleasantly surprised to find a rather long note inside (it’s posted below!). He usually really dislikes writing anything at all (hence his Facebook timeline that is bare as bones, haha) so I felt extra loved that he took the time to write something on this occasion. But I was even more touched when I began to read his words that reached right into my soul and gave me hope for my life and for our future together. I’m so thankful for this guy who speaks the truth even when it might be hard to hear. I’ve desperately needed to start thinking more positively, not taking life too seriously, and just remembering to stop and smell the roses every now and then. They say opposites attract and in this case I think my little rain cloud of negativity just knew it needed to find some sunshine :) Thank you Justin for this sweet note, and thank you for encouraging me to always look for the beauty in every situation and circumstance… I love you!

“Megan- As I’m sure you already know, birthdays are more than just gifts and cake. They are about looking back on how far you’ve come, being thankful for the places you’ve been, and dreaming of where you want to go. One important question to ask yourself right now is how you want to spend the rest of your life. I want to encourage you to live freely and not take life too seriously. So much can be missed, overlooked, and not experienced to the fullest if your heart and mind are not open to fun, new, and adventurous opportunities.

As a business owner, you might often feel like you’re struggling to keep your creative touch… but the world is as beautiful as you wish to see it. There is beauty to be found everywhere you go, so make sure you don’t miss it. Open your eyes and find the special parts that make it so uniquely beautiful.

So today, take an hour and think about where you’re been, what you’ve learned, and all that you’ve seen so far in life. Then think about where you want to be, what you want to learn, and what you still want to see so that on your 60th birthday you can look back and know that you’ve lived a fulfilling life. I love you and I can’t wait to start our lives together and see what crazy adventures we have!”
