Kayla has been so sweet and excited about everything having to do with marrying Evan since she first wrote me months ago! I knew their engagement session was going to be wonderful just because of how kind she had been to me since the start. These two have such big hearts! I kept saying “You guys are SO sweet!!” the entire time I was shooting them and I think at one point they probably started to think I was crazy because of how much I was gushing about them!! Truthfully, I meant it… I had SO much fun at their engagement session that I am even more excited now for their wedding day in just a little over a month!!
We met at Manassas Battlefield Henry Hill for their engagement photos at sunset. The sky lit up in pinks and oranges and we walked up the hill to catch the view of the Virginia countryside at this historic site. Every time I come here, it’s a little like stepping back in time… it’s quiet, it’s empty, and there’s a natural beauty that I can imagine Americans living in the area two hundred years ago came here to soak up. This is one of my all-time favorite places to shoot because the light is always amazing and the fields of wheat and rustic houses create a simple yet beautiful atmosphere. I’m thinking Kayla and Evan’s wedding day in the Pennsylvania countryside might have a similar feel! I can’t wait!
Kayla and Evan, I hope you love these pictures and think of how much you love each other every time you look at them! I know your love will continue to be as enduring and unconditional as you’ve described. I can’t wait to celebrate with you in November!!
