I still can’t believe that just a few weeks ago I was waking up to the California sunshine seeping through the palm trees and the beautiful, cool, dry West Coast air blowing through my open window. I had never been to California… minus the few hours I spent in Death Valley a couple of years ago, which clearly doesn’t count. Haha. Los Angeles was literally perfect. Very few times do I fall in love with a place so quickly and that’s what happened in L.A. Last September I met my sweet friend Emily Magers…

Hosanna - It’s too funny to see my region from an outsider’s view, while I sit here swooning over Virginia’s wheat fields and stately manors. Can’t wait for more to come!ReplyCancel

Hosanna - P.S. It’s almost always that smoggy in SoCal. :)ReplyCancel

Well this is one of those posts that is surreal to type because I’ve known this bride for DECADES! Britney and I were in the same first grade (maybe even kindergarten?!) class together and I can still picture her toothless smile and soft, sweet voice!! It had been years since we’d seen each other but when I saw she was engaged, I hoped that I would somehow get to be a part of her day and here we are! I haven’t had many friends get married in my life yet, so it was SO special capturing these two and getting to know Greg as Britney’s fiancé…

I’m so excited to share this wedding day! I first met Katie and Conor last fall for their engagement session in D.C. and they filled me in on how they met, what their families are like, and what they were envisioning for their wedding day almost one year in the future. Well, that day arrived a couple of weeks ago on a warm summer day at Water’s Edge! This venue was the perfect mix of a coastal vibe with modern flair. Katie got ready in a gorgeous ivory-walled bridal suite and walked down the aisle at a ceremony site that faced the blue waters of the Chesapeake Bay.

Maria & David’s Malibu engagement photos capture the beauty of California’s golden coast. Where do I even begin with these two?! It’s rare that I feel like I’ve been friends with a couple for years the minute they step out of their car at an engagement session… but that’s what happened with Maria and David. I knew a little bit about how they’d met and how they were spending the year in Santa Monica, California before their wedding next summer. What I didn’t know was just how much fun these two have together. They were ALL laughter and smiles…

I walked into Lauren’s apartment (which was soon to be Andrew’s, too!) and it was surprisingly calm. Usually things get a little crazy on wedding days and the bridal suite is the hub for all the action!! But Lauren’s bedroom where her bridesmaids were doing their makeup was quiet. Everyone was just so peaceful. The girls sipped on their smoothies (courtesy of the father of the bride) and Lauren carefully checked the flowers in her hair and put her lipstick on. It was almost time to get married… and Lauren and Andrew were SO excited…!
